Corporate wellness is a real factor in employee productivity and loyalty… Imagine that, in recent times, nothing has been going well in your company. Your employees hang out in front of the coffee machine in the morning and are reluctant to go to work. Faced with this situation, it may be time to question yourself: How satisfied are your employees? Isn’t it time to ask yourself what is going on? Is a change in working conditions necessary? Improving working conditions has a direct impact on employee sentiment and the quality of their work. Remember, corporate wellness plays a crucial role in preventing absenteeism and promoting performance.

Corporate wellness: Beyond salary remuneration

Today, salary is no longer the only thing that counts in stabilizing and improving corporate well-being. Recent studies show that the level of remuneration is no more important than health or well-being. On the other hand, statistics from the “Labor Market Guide 2022” show that 37% of employees would like to have greater recognition for the activities they perform in their jobs and that, in addition, 16% would like greater social benefits. This means that employees not only want to earn more, but also to feel appreciated, cared for and valued within the organization to which they belong…

What is corporate wellness?

“Corporate well-being is a state of mind characterized by a satisfactory harmony between the abilities, needs and aspirations of the employee and the other constraints and possibilities of the work environment”.

Building a corporate well-being policy makes it possible both to reduce psychosocial risks and to act on the collective climate and motivation at work.

The notion of corporate well-being is a global concept, broader than the notions of physical and mental health. It refers to a general feeling of satisfaction and fulfillment in and through work that goes beyond the absence of harm to health. Well-being emphasizes personal and collective perceptions of situations and limitations in the professional sphere. The meaning of these realities has, for everyone, physical, psychological, emotional and psychosocial consequences and translates into a certain level of efficiency for the company.

Corporate wellbeing is, therefore…

A global and subjective state of mind. Today, corporate well-being is important. It encompasses a number of factors that can influence the quality of life of employees in the workplace:

  • The safety and hygiene of the premises.
  • Employee health protection.
  • The psychosocial impact of the tasks performed, e.g. stress and violence.
  • The ergonomics of workspaces: arrangement of desks, posture, seating.
  • Environmental measures.

ChVmpion Mind: A proactive approach

ChVmpion Mind‘s corporate wellness approach aims to develop a concept of efficiency and performance in the company that cares for the health of employees and promotes their motivation and involvement at work. The implementation of a wellness policy, based on a 21-week program where deficiencies, negative habits and limitations are worked on in order to improve and change the lives of employees and leaders, can certainly contribute to the professional development and growth of the company.

In addition, it improves the work environment within the teams; along with strengthening the climate of respect and listening. It also helps to prevent psychosocial risks, before acute manifestations of stress, violence or burnout. All this and much more is possible with ChVmpion Mind. Would you dare to take on this challenge?

Let’s remember…

Corporate well-being is a set of subjective factors that allow the employee to feel good about himself and his job. When working conditions are bad, the suffering that constitutes work leads the employee to burnout and finally to burnout. Thus, an unhappy and tired employee is an unproductive employee. Improving working conditions is no longer an option: it is a necessity. Employees need recognition, days off. Flexibility in the way they work; all this in order for them to see their work as meaningful. A high salary cannot replace the many aspects of personal well-being, it is only one part of the whole.

In addition:

It is then up to the employer to provide optimal working conditions to reduce absenteeism, contribute to happiness and improve quality of life.

Prioritizing corporate well-being? The company has a lot to gain from it… Specialists such as José L. Meléndez CEO of ChVmpion Mind explains:

“An employee can reach a goal faster, but neither the path will be very easy nor the goal will be sustainable if you don’t surround yourself with good people who support you in your inner mind” Which could mean that:

“The difference between very good people and exceptional people is not in their skills, talents or strengths, it is in what and who supports them to develop them in the right way and for long enough to make a difference.”

5 tips to achieve corporate wellness

1.Make the workspace welcoming.

To achieve corporate wellness you should seek to cultivate a productive atmosphere by encouraging employees to regularly tidy and readjust their space. To do this, choose comfortable, upright seating to promote good posture or to alleviate joint pain. If the area has little natural light, brighten up the environment with some lamps. Consider adding plants or other décor to improve the team’s mood, reduce stress and improve air quality.

2.Encourages movement

Achieving corporate wellness involves a number of measures that can help balance business realities with a more attractive and comfortable environment. Incorporating movement into the daily work routine has many health benefits and provides opportunities to reboot and recharge. Recommend that employees stand, stretch and take short walks or laps during the workday. Alternatively, encourage regular breaks if employees’ daily work is physically demanding.

3.Set up lunchtime activities.

Group activities are a fantastic way to instill camaraderie, promote team building and create a positive work environment. Therefore, they help to improve well-being in a safe way. Consider tailoring activities to your employees’ interests and make sure there are options for different skill levels. Walking clubs, yoga and meditation are examples of lunchtime activities that can be implemented.

4.Encourage concentration time

To improve corporate wellness suggest that employees who dedicate blocks of time to work on a task or project without interruption. Focus time blocks increase employee productivity and reduce outside distractions. Brainstorm ways to combat monotony by breaking up repetitive tasks. Some employers even implement No Meeting Days to curb excess and conserve workers’ time and energy during the week.

5.Promote work disconnection outside of work hours.

Technology allows workplaces to be more connected than ever, but it is important that employees disconnect from work during their free time. If you want to promote corporate wellness you must collaborate so that both spaces (work and rest); are totally disconnected from each other.
